On Your Marks... Get Set... I Did Something!

So, I finally started. For the past four days I’ve sat down and dirtied some paper. I’ve been practicing circles, spheres and lines. Then I make faces. It’s not much but it’s a start and I’m loosening up the ol’ arm. I’m enjoying the feel of the pencil on the paper. It’s nothing out of this world but the fact that I’m doing something means the world to me. On top of the courage to show this online, I’m feeling pretty darn okey dokey lately. Although, I may need to invest in a scanner soon...

If that wasn’t enough of a thrill for my loyal readers, I also started making a little game that I’ve been thinking about for a long time. I get a real kick out of typing what is essentially gibberish and having it doing something on the computer screen. It’s the closest I can get to a magic trick. It’s also an exciting challenge to figure out how to get something to work. It’s like a puzzling puzzle that has to be puzzled out until it’s a picture of a kitty napping on a puppy.

 
 
Well, it’s been a pretty decent four days. The next challenge is to keep the momentum going. Gotta keep on walking every day until I’m off and running. Maybe I can work up to cubes next or gray scales or even maybe really start in on a class. Maybe I can make it to a playable version of my game. I’m getting excited just thinking about it. Much better than doom scrolling. I mean, I’m still doom scrolling but the other two things are still better than that. I think that’s about it for this week’s jumble of words. See you all next week!

Stuck... Stuck... Stuck...

     It’s funny that I don’t know how to start writing a blog because I never know how to start anything and then I don’t start anything. Which is probably the reason I’m stuck. They say just start. I’d like to meet they someday. They sound so wise and learned. Anyway, don’t over think it and just start. So here I am starting and not trying to overthink it… Too much.      Here’s the short version. I’ve just turned 44. I got laid off a month and a half ago. I’m at home, helping to take care of my father. I’ve never done anything worthwhile because I’m too afraid of “getting it wrong” and now nothing is right. I’m full of the anxiety, self-doubt and caffeine. And 12 Makes a Dozen

This is my twelfth post. That’s like twelve more than I’ve ever done before. Sure, some other folks might be a little bit smarter than I am. Bigger and stronger too. But none of them will love writing this blog the way I do. It’s me and you. Since Disney is so litigious, I would like to say that I have no idea who a “Toy Story” is or what a Randy Newman be. Regardless, I’m still plugging away at drawing and game making. I’m pretty happy that my boxes aren’t as awful as they could be for starting up drawing after a such long time. I can’t remember if I’ve brought this up before and I’m obviously too lazy to look at my previous posts. Don’t want to skew the metrics.
